Many of the teachers at Good Samaritan became interested in special education after having personal interaction with the deaf. In fact, two of the present teachers, Eddie and Ludith, are children of Mr. and Mrs. Nsamba; they grew up with many of Good Samaritan’s students and started learning sign language at an early age. The teachers have all completed Ugandan Sign Language courses with the Uganda National Association of the Deaf. On top of that, many have also undergone teaching training at local colleges. All the teachers live at the Kitengesa Trading Centre, which is a short distance away from Good Samaritan. The proximity to the school ensures that the students receive adequate attention all the time.
